What’s On in Cheltenham?
Although Cheltenham is a hub of activity throughout the year, the summer season is the perfect time to explore this picturesque town. From free activities for the children to boozy walks and theater to keep the grown ups occupied, there are plenty of reasons to visit this popular Regency town over the coming months.

Nailed Again – David Foster 2016
Between 29th July and 26th August 2016, the Paragon Gallery will be showcasing its third annual exhibition of David Foster’s amazing portraits that he creates using a hammer and up to 30,000 nails!
A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Design
The last week of August will see a culmination of the work of 70 of the finest contemporary artisan furniture makers, jewelry designers and artists coming together in one place to create a display of beautiful craftsmanship and design.
Cheltenham Microbrewery Tour
For anyone who appreciates a local brew, this tour that runs throughout July and August, is for you. A discovery of new flavours and tastes, this whistle stop tour will be sure to satisfy those taste buds and provide you with the opportunity to explore the local community at a leisurely pace.
Beatrix Potter and the Tailor of Gloucester
On 3rd and 6th August 2016, The Everyman Theatre Company, alongwith the Everyman Choir and local actors, bring Beatrix Potter’s classic tale to life onstage. An enjoyable experience for all the family.
Cheltenham is awash with great shows during September, but Footloose is set to cause a stir! Based on the infamous 1980s film, this musical extravaganza is jam-packed with toe-tapping tunes for all to enjoy. A must see.
For those looking for something a little more malaise, visit the Everyman Studio Theatre in September to see the tragedies and ecstasies behind the seven white masks of Scaramouche Jones.
For the Kids
Although the museum is currently closed due to flooding, staff will be holding free activities – including mask making and kite making – throughout the summer to inspire your little ones and help the museum to reopen!
Wild Worlds Exhibition
A family friendly, immersive exhibition based on mythical stories and fantastical creatures will be live until 4th September! Through the work of international ceramicists, Wild Worlds will take you on a journey of discovery as well as offer you the chance to get hands on with creative activities, too!
Midcounties Cooperative Fun Day
If you happen to be in the area on 16th August, a fun day, attended by the Mayor, will be held at Newlands Rugby Club. With sporting events, blind auctions and a motor exhibition, it is set to be a great day.
Paws in the Park 2016
A celebration of all things canine – encompassing pet services, doggie athletics and a cruft show to keep you entertained for hours.
Moreton in Marsh Show
An annual event, held on the first Saturday of September, Moreton in Marsh Show is a traditional country show including competitions, trade stands and an array of locally sourced food and drink for you to enjoy.
