With our residential Christmas packages sold out, there is still the opportunity to join us on a Bed and Breakfast basis this festive season. To help you make the most of your visit, we have compiled a list of last minute activities for your Christmas break in Cheltenham. Let us take care of providing the ultimate festive experience, while you take note of a few things you can do during your impromptu stay…

Cotswolds Countryside

If you are joining us from afar please be sure to plan your travel route in advance; take your time and enjoy your journey into the Cotswolds countryside. If you are travelling from the London area take the scenic route along the M40 and A40; you’ll pass through areas of outstanding natural beauty like the Chiltern Hills area. However, if you arrive and are feeling peckish, you are more than welcome to dine in the brand new Horse Box. Along with the recently refurbished dining area, we have a fabulous new menu that packs plenty of flavours and is sure to appeal to the even the fussiest of eaters! To tide you over until dinner time why not choose from our selection of bar snacks, like the crispy whitebait or our scrumptious Horse Box scotch quail eggs, or make a reservation for our restaurant.

Our 15th Century luxury hotel near Cheltenham racecourse is also very accessible from Cheltenham train station, which is just a forty minute drive to our idyllic countryside Christmas getaway. As the only 5-star hotel in Cheltenham, it will come as no surprise that we have a helicopter landing pad for those wanting to avoid traffic and arrive in style – this will be available during the festivities should you choose this luxurious method of transportation – just remember to notify staff members prior to your arrival!

Shopping

Just a short fifteen-minute drive from our luxury hotel in the Cotswolds you will discover the cultural hub of Cheltenham, the Montpelier District. Not only does the area offer plenty of history and stunning architecture to peruse, but it also has a fabulous selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and brasseries to try out during your festive shopping spree. Not only offering the usual high street retailers, the area is home to the more independent and interesting boutique shops, which will offer some great present inspiration as well as giving yourself the chance to purchase some items as a memory of your time in the Cotswolds.

Cleeve Commons

For the outdoorsy types amongst us don’t worry if you forget your walking boots and winter woollies – you can borrow anything you like from our fully kitted out boot room. We have incredible countryside walks right on our doorstep, like the route along Cleeve Commons, you will not want to miss getting out into the great outdoors this Christmas.

During your stay, you can also play a round of golf on the challenging 18-hole course, which was built over 100 years ago in 1891! Another option for the more athletically inclined is a horse riding trip along the Commons – this does require organising a hacking licence prior to your arrival, but the exhilaration from a crisp morning on the saddle is unbeatable!

Whatever you decide to do, with breathtaking panoramic views of the Cotswolds you will be glad you made the trip. Also at your luxury hotel in the Cotswolds, we have thirteen dog-friendly rooms available, bring along your trustiest companion for those blustery winter walks.

Throw caution to the wind and join us for a last minute Christmas in the Cotswolds – with a wide array of activities that do not require prior booking, you will have plenty to keep you occupied during your getaway! Get in touch here, or book directly for the best rates on our Bed and Breakfast options.
