Family Friendly Events in Cheltenham this Summer

When the weather is beautiful, and even when it isn’t, we always get asked what’s on in Cheltenham to enjoy with the family. Here at Ellenborough Park, we always know the goings-on so you can enjoy some precious time together. See our favourite selection below.

Giffords Circus at Sudeley Castle

From Thursday 17 to Monday 21 May 2018, you can enjoy a fantastic family-friendly day out at Giffords Circus. Expect live music, daring stunts and animal performances. Award-winning comedy director Cal McCrystal will steer the performance, so it is no surprise that it has been called “the Nation’s most glamorous troupe” by The Sunday Telegraph.

Prices start from £10 to £32.

Children’s Festival Cheltenham

Saturday 26th May 2018 will see the return of a beloved festival to Cheltenham. Childhood is important, so this year the theme of the festival is childhood past, present and future. Children’s Festival Cheltenham first took place in 2016, and since then all the activities put on encourage being healthy and happy, all while exploring new and old technology. Your little ones will have fun making music, playing outside with friends old and new, and of course storytime.

Price: free.

Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival

Indulge in some treats, delicacies and fine cooking at Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 June 2018. Read more about the Food and Drink festival over in our blog.

Cheltenham Pretty Muddy Kids at Cheltenham Racecourse

Pretty Muddy takes place on Saturday 30 June 2018 and is held for a great cause – Cancer Research UK. Similar to the more grown-up variants, this 5K course will see your kids take on various obstacles; we all know how resilient and messy kids can be! From crawling through mud to getting even messier in grass, woodchip and sand, there are many obstacles and inflatables along the way for them to tackle.

There will be shortcuts available for those who don’t want to attempt the 5K.

Entry costs £10.

The Gruffalo’s Child at Everyman Theatre

Whisk your little ones away on an adventure they will never forget – The Gruffalo’s Child will set off on her very own adventure to search for the Big Bad Mouse and you can join her. On Tuesday 3 to Thursday 5 July 2018 the much-loved children’s book will come to life at Everyman Theatre.

Tickets cost £14.

The Play Farm

Should the weather take a turn for the worst, you can always head to The Play Farm. Hailed as Cheltenham’s largest soft play, whatever the weather your family can be entertained and what’s better, the kids can explore freely. Parents can relax in the café safe in the knowledge that staff are on hand to maintain hygiene, advise and see that the children have a great – and safe – time!

Tickets cost £1- £4.95 depending on age.

Mr Mulligan’s Lost World

Mr Mulligan’s Lost World offers golf and adventure – is your family brave enough to tag along? From the Jurassic to the jungle, you can all attempt a hole in one as you battle dark sea creatures and find hidden treasure. There are 36 holes to try, making this a fun day out whatever the weather.

Tickets start at £3.50 – £8.75 for adults.
