How to Refresh After the Festive Season

The festive season is a time of great celebration, though occasionally we can be known to slightly over-do it… Here are some invaluable tips for how to relax, rejuvenate and kick-start 2019 the right way. Our Spa Team will always recommend one of our spa breaks in the Cotswolds but you may be surprised by some of the other tips from elsewhere in the hotel.

Rest & Relaxation

Important healing takes place during sleep, so we firmly recommend getting enough hours’ rest as you head into the New Year. Our collection of decadent rooms offer all the comforts you need to see in the New Year in utter bliss. Once you are well rested, consider a relaxing and detoxing treatment to fully welcome in the year ahead and to feel your absolute best – our team can advise on what treatment will work for you.

Our Winter Warmer Spa Day is perfect for those of us requiring a boost during the cold winter weather. As well as a luxurious 55-minute ishga treatment, you will be able to enjoy Afternoon Tea or a two-course lunch – not forgetting complimentary use of our spa and leisure facilities. Our outdoor pool is heated throughout the year and a real luxury to be able to enjoy no matter the weather. Relax and unwind after the festivities for only £99 per person.

Fresh Air

We can never stop talking about the beautiful views that the Cotswolds bestows, not to mention the benefits of exercise both to energise, strengthen and clear your mind and body. After the festive season you will want to detox the body, and exercise helps to flush out any toxins, increase circulation and help your body’s natural lymphatic system work better – our Spa Team are just the people to speak to about the best lymphatic massages that would be suitable for you. If you feel overly sluggish, exercise will kick-start endorphins and boost your metabolism so try to work out either by walking or workout for at least 10 minutes. Once you have had plenty of fresh air you will feel revitalised, so this is a perfect time for a full body massage. Think of it as a treat after a hectic festive season; there is nothing more wonderful than an explorative walk around the countryside and we’re in a prime location for you to do so.

A New Hobby

The greatest part about starting a new year? Being able to reset and challenge yourself. If you are looking for a new hobby or a new sport, then our Event Team think that Beginners Polo is the perfect way to test out your affinity with the skill required. Longdole Club is working in collaboration with Ellenborough Park to offer the perfect family holiday experience – find out more about this package on our website here.

If you don’t feel like trying something as exciting or strenuous, then a new hobby can be something as simple as reading a new book (we have another blog that features the best places to read in the hotel here). If you’re feeling brave, you could always start 2019 by getting up-close and personal with some exotic animals thanks to Cotswold Wildlife Park’s Animal Encounters.

You won’t find a more beautiful place to relax this winter than in the Cotswolds. Spa days, treatments and weekend breaks at Ellenborough Park are in high demand, so be sure to book your experience without delay.
