An invitation to one of the finest wedding fairs in Gloucestershire

If you’re thinking of getting married in the area, we highly recommend attending a wedding fair. As well as allowing you to familiarise yourself with the area, it’s also a great way to get ideas for your big day and source suppliers.

Ellenborough Park Hotel hosts wedding fairs in Gloucestershire throughout the year. We welcome you to explore the venue, enjoy welcome drinks and canapés, meet our wedding team and suppliers as well as ask any questions you may have.

We feel it’s important that you get to know us before deciding whether or not to choose us for your Cheltenham wedding venue. You’re welcome to attend our wedding fairs, arrange an appointment to come and view the venue and below we’ve also included a Q&A session with our Wedding Manager, Liz Lane.

Liz Lane - Wedding Manager

How long have you been in your role as a wedding planner?

I’ve been the wedding manager at Ellenborough Park for the last two years. Before joining the events team, I spent four years working at a vineyard in New Zealand supporting the organisation and running special events. It’s been quite the change but I absolutely love working here and guiding couples through their special day.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Working with our couples is so special. Being with them through all the exciting parts of organising the wedding and supporting them through the more stressful elements makes it so rewarding when their big day comes together.

I also love working with all the different suppliers. It’s easy to find yourself taking the beauty of the hotel for granted when you see it every day, so when suppliers come and dress it up for weddings it gives you the chance to fall back in love with it all over again!

What’s your favourite part of a wedding day?

We are the first people to greet the newly married couple when they leave the chapel. Seeing the pure excitement on their faces once the nerve-wracking ceremony is over is wonderful.

What is your role in the lead up and on the day?

I work with the couples from the very beginning, attend any meetings and offer advice and guidance where it’s needed. Shortly before the big day, I hand my couples over to our banqueting manager who is their point of contact on the actual wedding day. We all work so closely together and I love being so involved in making the weddings come to life.

What would be your best piece of advice for a couple starting to plan their wedding?

I think it’s incredibly important for couples to make it fun and personal. So often couples are trying to please families and friends and forget to look after themselves. I would say to make it as personal as possible to you as a couple. Then, most importantly, when the day arrives, take a step back and enjoy every minute of it.

What are your last-minute tips for a bride the night before the wedding?

The bridal party/groomsmen are there to help and you can trust them. Pass on any last-minute jobs to them and immerse yourselves in the big day.

What makes Ellenborough Park the perfect choice for a wedding venue?

It really is a magical venue. From the moment you enter the sweeping driveway, the tone is set for you and your guests. You’ll all feel a million miles away from reality and can just enjoy everything about the day. We do everything we can to make our weddings feel as exclusive, luxurious and intimate as possible – all whilst tailoring it specifically to our couples.
